  • Defense verdict, Williamson County, March 2011: $2 million suit against interventional cardiologist by patient who suffered stent thrombosis and a debilitating stroke as complications of a percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty) procedure.
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, July 2010: $4.5 million suit against cardiothoracic surgeon for alleged permanent injury to heart following mitral valve repair in 21-year-old patient with rheumatic heart disease. 
  • Defense verdict, Webb County, September 2009: $13 million claim against dentist and co-defendant anesthesiologist for alleged failure to recognize and treat malignant hypertension following dental surgery, resulting in brain damage and persistent vegetative state.
  • Defense verdict, Grayson County, April 2008:  $1 million+ wrongful death claim against cardiothoracic surgeon for alleged failure to treat ruptured thoracic aortic aneurysm.
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, October 2006:  $1 million+ wrongful death suit against pediatric emergency physician alleging failure to diagnose and treat sepsis.  
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, August 2006:  $16 million claim against ER physician group and practice management company by patient disabled by a hemorrhagic stroke. 
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, May 2006:  $20 million suit against general surgeon alleging failure to timely diagnose and repair esophageal perforation and loss of esophagus.  
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, March 2006:  $1 million+ claim for permanent Erb’s Palsy alleged due to mismanagement of shoulder dystocia during delivery of baby.
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, February 2006:  $1 million+ wrongful death claim for alleged failure to diagnose and treat acute coronary syndrome.
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, January 2006:  $1 million+ wrongful death suit against interventional cardiologist alleging negligent coronary artery stent placement.
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, September 2005:  $2 million claim against interventional cardiologist for alleged failure to diagnose arterial perforation following angiogram, leading to above-knee amputation of leg.
  • Dismissal during trial, Dallas County, September 2005:  $2 million suit against internist for alleged failure to diagnose liver failure induced by toxic reaction to anti-tuberculosis medication.
  • Defense verdict, Tarrant County, August 2005:  $3.5 million suit against gastroenterologist arising from death of post-surgical patient from aspiration pneumonia.
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, March 2005:  $1 million suit against interventional cardiologist alleging failure to diagnose coronary artery disease resulting in death of patient.
  • Defense verdict, Collin County, February 2005:  $4.6 million suit against orthopedic spine surgeon for spinal cord injury during surgery resulting in loss of use of leg.
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, August 2004:  $1 million wrongful death claim against interventional cardiologist for alleged delay in performing angioplasty.
  • Defense verdict, Bell County, August 2004:  $1.38 million suit against hospital and physician group for obstetrical management of shoulder dystocia causing Erb’s Palsy.
  • Defense verdict, Gregg County, January 2004:  $1 million suit against gynecologist and clinic for allegedly unnecessary hysterectomy complicated by bowel obstruction. 
  • Defense verdict, Tarrant County, June 2003:  $920,000 suit (over $1 million with interest) against radiologist claiming permanent disability due to failure to report inadequate reduction of hip fracture. 
  • Defense verdict, Anderson County, May 2003:  $5 million suit against outpatient dialysis center for patient death allegedly caused by blood loss from dislodged venous needle. 
  • Defense verdict, Tarrant County, April 2003:  $2.3 million wrongful death claim against dentist for alleged failure to diagnose patient’s mouth cancer. 
  • Defense verdict on damages, Harrison County, November 2002:  $55 million suit against pediatrician for newborn’s brain damage allegedly resulting from transient neonatal hypoglycemia; verdict for only $1.6 million.  
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, June 2002:  $950,000 claim (over $1 million with interest) against thoracic surgeon for permanent vocal cord paralysis from injury to recurrent laryngeal nerve occurring during thoracotomy for suspected lung cancer.  
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, December 2001:  $1 million claim against obstetrician for bladder injury during cesarean section and against urologist for follow-up care.  Defense verdict for urologist.  Plaintiff verdict against obstetrician set aside. 
  • Defense verdict, Denton County, December 2001:  $1.4 million suit against general surgeon for injury to common bile duct during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. 
  • Defense verdict, Tarrant County, December 2001:  $950,000 claim (over $1 million with interest) against estate of deceased neurosurgeon alleging failure to obtain informed consent for thalamotomy.
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, November 2001:  $1 million+ wrongful death claim against physical medicine/rehabilitation specialist alleging failure to diagnose and treat sepsis. 
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, November 2001:  $2.6 million suit against general surgeon alleging failure to properly perform and obtain informed consent for abdominal surgery for reflux disease. 
  • Defense verdict, Tarrant County, November 2001:  $1 million claim against anesthesiologist for arm impairment from brachial plexus injury allegedly caused by positioning during spinal surgery. 
  • Dismissal during trial, Dallas County, May 2001:  $20 million suit against family practitioner alleging failure to diagnose/treat vascular obstruction leading to compartment syndrome. Client dismissed as jury deliberated.  
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, May 2001:  $1.2 million wrongful death suit against cardiologist alleging failure to diagnose myocardial infarction and perform angioplasty. 
  • Defense verdict, Collin County, March 2001:  $5 million claim against obstetrician for bowel/bladder incontinence from pudendal nerve neuropathy following forceps delivery.
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, February 2001:  $9 million suit against family practice physician for alleged failure to diagnose pulmonary embolism resulting in death of 17-year-old post-op patient. 
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, January 2001:  $4.5 million suit against anesthesiologist for permanent partial paralysis due to alleged hypotensive infarction of spinal cord in knee replacement surgery. 
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, September 2000:  $6 million claim against emergency physician and group arising from death of ER patient with ruptured viscus and peritonitis. 
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, May 2000:  $38 million suit against rheumatologist arising from patient’s death from methotrexate lung disease, a rare complication of treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. 
  • Dismissal during trial, Denton County, April 2000:  $2 million claim against gynecologist for failure to diagnose breast cancer.  Client dismissed on third day of trial. 
  • Defense verdict on damages, Dallas County, April 2000:  $1 million suit against radiologist alleging failure to diagnose breast cancer.  Client found 15% at fault.  Settled after verdict under $100,000, less than 20% of pre-trial demand.  
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, March 2000:  $1 million+ wrongful death suit against gerontologist alleging failure to diagnose and treat congestive heart failure in nursing home patient. 
  • Defense verdict, Dallas County, March 2000:  $3 million claim against cardiothoracic surgeon and orthopedic spine surgeon for retained sponge in abdomen following anterior spinal fusion.
  • Defense verdict, Hunt County, February 2000:  $3 million wrongful death suit against internist for amputation of leg and eventual death of nursing home resident due to pressure sore infection and impaired circulation.
